well,
well, monday,
you didn't suck.
in fact, i kind of liked you.
monday morning, especially.
seriously. seriously? seriously.
you were just so perfect.
mara, normally wakes up beaming and shining like the bright star she is.
but this morning was special. i got a snuggly, bright star to start my day with.
curled up next to me in papa's empty spot on the bed.
i believe she was soaking in the sweetness surrounding us on the first day of our 'work week'.
eisley paraded around the room, hightailing it all the way away from her clothes.
porter woke up happy; which this morning, felt like a miracle,
aaaand with green and purple swirled playdough up his nose.
how does that get up there?!
i chased rippled and smooth butt cheeks,
i got winded, i smiled. i filled up.
we got moving again,
tidying and cleaning up a bit,
lunch was had,
nap was had,
i got to relax for a few moments,
we made pretty things with pom-poms, googly eyes, glitter pipe cleaners,
striped pipe cleaners, and playdough (of course).
papa came home,
we went and got groceries,
chatted about how excited we were to one day walk into
our own backyard for food and ditch the supermarkets.
returned home,
and we baked cookies.
papa played with the wild cubs, our hugest blessings,
and i cooked up an actual supper,
and relaxed while cooking!
the kids loved the food,
and with full bellies,
the settled into our little den,
with blankets and books, music, and
plenty of pillows of course.
wolf and i are going to eat supper when their eyes finally shut for the night,
and we'll have a string of light, lit supper
followed by laundry and more music,
until our eyes grow heavy, and we are ready for monday to be over.
but i'm not in a hurry tonight,
monday,
you were really good to me.

FIRSTS.
Sunday being the first day of a new week. This week is off to a set of firsts in our little wolf den. Today, I checked an item off my "23 before 23" list, I made my very first dress. Two if you count the one that was 90% complete before an accidental cut ruined it. And tomorrow starts her first day of Waldorf-inspired, nature preschool at our local nature center. Then Tuesday she has her very first play date, which is also Porter's very first play date with another child his age. These may seem like just little things, but they are things I am looking forward to and loving. I put pictures of the completed first dress/tunic below. It started as a dress pattern that I freehanded but I shortened the length so it could be a "tunic" and Mara would be allowed to wear it school with pants. Pretty proud of my first creation!
